Hurrichicanery (An Ode to Disaster)
I think a massive evacuation calls for a limerick, don't you?
I've fled that great storm named Katrina
And am now safely gone from Orlean-a
In my apartment, what's left,
Not lost to wind or theft?
Well, folks, that remains to be seen-a....
Yeah, I know. It's not Ogden Nash. But I'm slightly shaken. More wit and wisdom later (if it hasn't been swept away).

Thanks for posting and letting us know you evacuated safely. All the best with the ordeal of storm recovery, and I hope you return home to find everything safe, sound and as dry as can be expected.
Spiff.
Thanks, Spiff.
I had another post about the hurricane, but then I realized that I can't say anything humorous, because there's a death toll. So, I'm electing not to say anything at all until I get back to N.O. I appreciate everyone's concern, and I'm happy to be safe with my family (and Dave, and his new friend Lizzie).
I had dinner with the Selden sisters Sunday night (wow, say that five times fast) and we were all worried about you. I second Spiff's sentiments. Take care.
